JAMES CALLERI along with his partners Paul Davis and Erica Jensen run Calleri Casting. They  have been awarded 14 Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Casting. James proudly serves on the Board of the Casting Society of America. He is an Associate Professor of Theater at Columbia University School of the Arts where he heads the Graduate MFA Acting Program. He is the co-author with Robert Cohen of ACTING PROFESSIONALLY: RAW FACTS ABOUT CAREERS IN ACTING published by Palgrave MacMillan, in it’s eighth edition it is one of the leading books in the country for young actors.  James resides in New York City and Saugerties, New York.


PAUL DAVIS is one of three Casting Directors at Calleri Casting, Paul holds a BA in Drama from UC Irvine where James Calleri was his first acting teacher.  Paul started in casting as the Assistant on the Broadway revival of “Annie Get Your Gun.”   He subsequently worked with Mark Simon Casting as well as USA Films and Focus Features.  On his own, Paul cast “The Crumple Zone” for Jason Moore, the Obie-winning “A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant” for Alex Timbers and Kyle Jarrow as well as “God’s Ear” for New Georges and The Vineyard (director Anne Kauffman).  Prior to joining Calleri Casting full time, Paul also cast commercials and short films with Stacy Gallo. Paul teaches for Brooklyn College and The New School.

ERICA JENSEN started as an intern at Playwrights Horizons where she met James Calleri. Fifteen years later she is one of three casting directors at Calleri Casting, a multiple Artios award winning office where she’s worked on projects in film, television, and theater. Erica spent the 2004 – 2005 television season as the Talent Coordinator on Chappelle’s Show where she also did extras casting. She teaches on camera audition technique at various places throughout New York City and is a regular guest at Brown / Trinity Rep where she works with the third year MFA candidates in their last semester and also teaches for The New School. She has taught playwriting and screenwriting at RISD. Erica directed the musical, Mother Eve’s Secret Garden of Sensual Sisterhood, which she also co-wrote and co-produced for the NYC Fringe Festival. She also won Best Director at the New York City 15 Minute Play Festival for her direction of the short play For Better or Worse.  Erica holds an MFA in Acting from Illinois State University.

Ever After at the Alliance Theater. Other: The Visit starring Chita Rivera and Roget Rees, Renee Fleming in Living on Love, the Tony winning revival Hedwig & The Angry Inch starring Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Hall, the revival of The Elephant Man starring Bradley Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola which travels to London's West End in the Summer of 2015 and last season hit Of Mice and Men with James Franco, Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester.

Recent Off-Broadway hits: Ives Lives of Saints and his revival of All in the Timing, Buyer & Cellar, Murder for Two, The Hilltown Plays, Satchmo at the Waldorf, My Name is Asher Lev, the Ives’, the long-running Fuerza Bruta and The Revisionist with Vanessa Redgrave and Jesse Eisenberg.

Other past credits include: Playwrights Horizons (10 seasons) including such premieres as Betty’s Summer Vacation, Lobby Hero, Small Tragedy, Goodnight Children Everywhere, Violet to name a few.
